Истёк контракт корпорации по управлению доменами и адресацией сети Internet (ICANN) и министерством торговли США, и Национальным управлением информации и связи (NTIA). Предположительно, координация сети Internet перейдет от IANA мировому сообществу, возможно, в ООН, в данный момент вопрос обсуждается.
